"Czech Mate".Hetzer, Prague 1945

Postby BrIAN332 » Sat Mar 21, 2015 9:41 pm

Ok so ive kinda stuck as to what to do for this colour GB as colourful models aint really my thing :? .....so after some thought, im going to go with this one, a model ive thought about doing before anyhow, and so this GB is the perfect opportunity..

Academy 1/35 Prague Hetzer 1945.

Ive read plenty reviews of this kit with my only doubt about Academy kits is their crap decals , but the ones that come with this kit are by Cartograf so no problems there.

Bison decals also do a set especially for this kit so i might them as well, will see

The plan is to put the Hetzer on a small base with one of Miniarts smaller ruined houses as an option as a suitable Prague setting ;)

Oh very cool! Great choice Brian! Nice splash of colour in there and very unusual. It's a surprise as well because I was expecting to see a valdalised Trabant from you :D

Looking forward to this!

Ha ha ha well done man, great choice, i was kinda wondering what you were gonna do as ya dont see many colourful tanks, this will be deadly looking with your usual attention to detail.
Man with hand in pocket, feel cocky all day

:D Believe me that was a plan Vinny :D ....but i think i will keep that Trabby that i got recently for another project, even tho would of been perfect for this GB with all that color, but ive other plans for it :oX ....so this hull red Hetzer with the Czech flags and graffiti will be my build for this GB :)

These Hetzers were used by Czech insurgents and resistance fighters during the uprising in Prague in 1945. Hetzers even without main guns, even though some had mantlets, were stolen from factories, most still without paint, and used during the course of the uprising.Machine guns such as the MG42 would of been used with steel plates fitted on the hull.

There were no formal markings on the Hetzers, but they were covered in National markings, some painted or actual cloth flags and they also carried nationalist slogans, plenty in some cases, with the slogans put on with chalk or paint.

Ill be going for the hull red option with the Czech flags adding a nice colour contrast and also using several of the graffitti decals on the vehicle, im really looking forward to doing this one, starting soon :o|
