I'm doing a silver one this time, very early WIP in progress but I wanted to pass on a cheap tip...
You need a perfect shiny finish to get metallics to work, so I buffed the airframe using these nail buffer things I got from the discount store...

You can tear off the panels and they're foam backed, 1:50 for a pack of 4.

I just cant get good photos of this, but it's pretty good if you wanna take my word for it, If Wayne will have it it'll be in Mark's Models cabinet later this week...

It's an amazing kit, but I doubt if I'll build another one, Eduard are getting to the stage of producing models that are beyond the skill of most modellers (up to and including me) to get the best out of. It has a huge amount of parts and some very small and tricky assemblies, maybe this is why Tamiya are so highly regarded, their kits are always fun to build and while Eduard are easily the best detailed kits around, they're just not as much 'fun' as Tamiya's,

Cheers for looking,
Owen

Nope. I don't like that at all.
Not at all.
That's not a bloody terrific looking Tempest.
That finish is not astonishing.
And I am not at all jealous.
Nope
Nope
...
No way.

Absolutely awesome! That is one of the coolest NMFs I've ever seen! Pure class!

Looking forward to seeing this one progress!
