Cork model aero club had its origins in the misty pasts of the last century, 1949 to be exact, when modeling technology was far more simple than it is to-day. Since then rubber power and small diesel engine free flight models, have given way to the sophisticated radio control systems in common use now, along with high performance diesel and electric motor power units.
The sport of model flying can be as competitive or relaxed as you wish, and the club caters for all comers. Club members can be described as the young and the young-at-heart, and all share a common interest in building and flying their own models.
Nowadays you can skip the building bit and get straight to the flying with ready made models available, though this way you lose out on details of model construction, helpful in re-build projects following hard landings !
The club’s vision is to promote the sport of model aircraft flying in a safe and friendly way for everyone.
